What Makes the Tesla Hum? Copper Induction Motors, Of Course!

See how copper improves the performance in automotive.

"Copper has always been recognized as the preferred material for conducting electricity, which is why it is used universally in motor windings."

A Brief Guide to Flexible Conductors - Braided Copper (2)

A Brief Guide to Flexible Conductors (2)

Here you'll find out-
(1) Why use flexible braided conductors
(2) Purchasing tips and common/standard designs of flex-braid.

There is an increasing number of users in power supply and distribution industry using flexible braided conductors for the following reasons:

1. High Ampacity
Ampacity is the first thing that must be taken into account when designing or purchasing a flex-braided conductor. (click here to see the definition of ampacity)

2. All Copper Made
From the braided wire to the lugs at two ends are made of high conductive copper which allows conductivity up to 99.99%.

3. Flexibility
Braided copper conductor is well know for its flexibility. A cable or bus bar that carries the same ampacity as a flex-braid is much stiffer.

4. Reduce Vibration
A flex-braid does not transmit vibration thus can solve problems created by vibration in high-voltage connections.

"Braided Copper Conductors Meet A Wide Range of Applications."

TU offers manufacturing of customized braided copper conductors. Before releasing an inquiry or order to us, please make sure you have data as below:

1. The determined ampacity
2. Lugs to be tin-plated or non-plated
3. Provide the dimension as below:

A Brief Guide to Flexible Conductors - Braided Copper (1)

A Brief Guide to Flexible Conductors (1)

For decades, TU has been working and associating with power supply industry. We thus get to learn how flexibility plays an important role in the vibration-producing equipment. With effort of summarizing the benefits and features of flexible conductors, we share the following information beginning with braided copper conductors.

Flexibility Reduces Vibration

It's known that the occurrence of vibration in transformers and generators is usually the cause of a loss of performance. Even with other designs or layout to avoid the problem, vibration still occurs throughout the power transmission and distribution networks. When earthquakes occur, the non-flexible connections from transformers or generators will not be able to bear the sever vibration, which then may result in equipment failure, heat increase and even the risk of fire.

Since non-flexible conductors will transmit vibration, making sure all connections or conductors are flexible becomes vital in designing power distribution networks.

An Alternative For Bus Bar
Braided copper conductors have been adopted by a increasing number of users of power supply industries. Flexible conductor/connectors are an ideal component for isolating layouts or panels from vibration problems.

Although braided copper conductors cost more than using copper bus bars, braided copper conductors will reward you with better performance and returning the investment by cutting back the cost of maintenance and risk of equipment failure.

Flexible Conductor Allows Better Heat Dissipation

Laminated flexible conductors are made of several copper sheets bounded at the two ends using press/diffusion welding process. The unbounded areas of the conductor allows more rooms for flexibility and heat dissipation.

The reduction of wiring errors results in fewer reworks, lower service costs and lower quality costs.

Press/Diffusion process makes copper sheet bound firmly, without using any soldering paste.

The transferable current allowance of a laminated flexible conductor differ from design to design. Please contact us directly if you have any question or inquiry, by using e-mail toingyeu@ms47.hinet.net or ring us at the numbers below.

Fact 1 of 25 BROWSE FACTS

Copper is the standard benchmark for electrical conductivity. It conducts electrical current better than any other metal except silver.
